Where Humanity, Machine, and Mutation Collide.
ULTIMATE x BioMassCore is an upcoming crossover action game featuring stylish combat, high-speed platforming, puzzles, and creative combo expression. Players battle through hordes of enemies using a wide arsenal of melee weapons, firearms, and unique character mechanics, chaining attacks together through weapon switching, style switching, cancels, aerial combat, and environmental interactions. Inspired by character action games such as Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and No More Heroes, fighting games such as Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, and platformers such as Mega Man X, ULTIMATE x BioMassCore aims to reward creativity, mastery, and player expression through a fast-paced combat system built around style, movement, and momentum.
Players can take control of a large roster drawn from ULTIMATE, BioMassCore, and other collaborating series, each featuring their own weapons, combat styles, and unique Neo-Gen abilities. Neo-Gens are character-defining mechanics that shape a fighter’s playstyle, while Styles alter their moveset and emphasize different strengths such as mobility, offense, defense, or utility. Characters can also acquire new weapons throughout the game, expanding their combat options and creating new combo opportunities.
Combat emphasizes freedom and expression. Players can perform extended attack strings through launchers, juggles, aerial routes, weapon switching, and advanced techniques such as Kara Phase, a cancel system that allows attacks to flow seamlessly into one another. Well-timed dodges trigger Matrix, slowing enemies while accelerating the player, opening new opportunities for counterattacks and combo extensions. Movement is equally important, with mechanics such as wall-running, dashing, jump cancels, enemy stepping, and wall-stick interactions allowing players to traverse environments and maintain offensive momentum.
The Climax Gauge fuels powerful abilities and is generated through combat. Spell Cards consume portions of the gauge to unleash devastating attacks or provide supportive effects, while Terminal Axioms serve as cinematic finishing techniques unique to each character. Sets of Spell Cards can be set up for the player to swap between during missions. At its peak, the gauge can be spent on Trigger, a transformation state that enhances abilities, alters attacks, and grants powerful temporary buffs.
Combat revolves around the Flow Chain, a dynamic ranking system that rewards aggression, variety, precision, and momentum. By mixing attacks, weapons, movement options, and defensive techniques while avoiding damage and repetition, players can increase their Flow Rank and earn greater rewards. Upon completing a mission, players are graded based on their performance, with Ultimate Encore representing the highest possible rank. Defeated enemies drop Copi Points, which can be spent on new moves, weapon upgrades, Spell Cards, and other enhancements.
ULTIMATE x BioMassCore features multiple story campaigns centered around different factions, alongside a variety of challenge modes designed to test player skill. These include Tag Mode, which allows players to switch freely between two characters during combat and command their tag partner, and Ultimate Tournament, a survival mode that pits players against increasingly difficult waves of enemies and bosses. On Free Mode, characters can freely scroll through any mission of any campaign to replay them with characters of their picking.
