Playstyle
Lin is a balanced hybrid-style character built around combo versatility, Flow Chain management, and stance synergy. His core identity revolves around fluidly shifting between three combat expressions: Human, Angel, and Demon. Rather than relying on a single optimized kit, Lin gains his full potential through continuous weapon and stance interaction, rewarding adaptability, timing, and rhythm-based execution.
His Angel and Demon sides are not independent kits but reactive extensions of his Human baseline, designed to amplify combo routes through synergy effects triggered by precise switching. This makes Lin highly expressive in skilled hands but intentionally inconsistent when played as a single-stance character.
The primary drawback of Lin’s design is his lack of stability in isolated play patterns. He does not sustain damage, energy gain, or combo efficiency when restricted to a single weapon or stance, making multi-kit engagement essential for optimal performance.
Strengths
- Versatile: High combo versatility across three stance systems
- Untouchable: Exceptional mobility and aerial control in Angel stance
- Crowd Demolisher: Strong crowd control and stagger potential in Demon stance
- Rewards Timing: Deep synergy-based combat rewarding timing mastery
- Tons of approaches: Adaptive playstyle that rewards creativity over repetition
Weaknesses
- Swap Maniac: Highly dependent on multi-stance interaction for full efficiency
- Master of None: Low effectiveness when restricted to a single weapon or style
- Black Belt in White Belt’s Clothing: Steep execution requirement due to timing-based systems
- Doesn’t Grow On Trees: Resource management complexity through Nitro Fuel and Hype-fryer layering
Styles
Styles are specialized movesets that expand Lin’s arsenal with three sets of weapons. Each stance offers a unique set of follow-up attacks, which can be chained together for complex combos. In unison, Lin can switch between Angel and Demon Styles (Tied to Style input) that can be used to attack at the same time with Liberty (Normal Attack input). Lin normally relies on Human, switching between Angel and Demon as supplementary kits for his base moves. This is signified by the color Lin glows while switching.

Human (White) – Lin’s main style focused on a balance between power and speed. Slightly slow compared to Angel Style. Strongest against crowds and slow singular enemies.
- Hype-fryer is Lin’s central kit for Human, granting new moves for Lin’s chainsaw sword and his guns
- Deft Swap – When performing a combo with Liberty, Lin can delay a hit to transition to Angel / Demon, causing synergy effects based on the stance. Angel causes sword projectiles to home in on nearby enemies, while Demon causes swords to perform follow-up afterimages to his attacks.

Angel (Blue) is Lin’s mobility-oriented style. Fast but having less damage, this style uses high mobility and evasiveness for one-on-one combat. It also can sweep in enemies from long ranges.
- Attack speed is increased
- Can dash 3 times in succession
- Gains aerial mobility
- Environmental interactions
- Dodge increases attack speed and Climax gain.
- Can hold moves to increase his reach when dashing

Demon (Red) is Lin’s power / defense-oriented style. Slow but powerful, this style destroys crowds easily with it’s wide range and chargeable attacks, disrupting enemy guards. It also has a guard that resists damage as well as extensive grabs.
- Infernal Resolve – If Lin takes a hit that’s not a knockdown, he’ll briefly flash red / yellow as he reels back. Hit attack at the same time to immediately recover, retaliating with a quick jab.
- Death Toll – When parrying enemies, he gains a temporary buff of invincibility
- Shadow Fang (Hold Guard) – Lin weaves with quick steps, allowing him to quickly feint moves and do quicker counterattacks

Hype-fryer
Lin can cast Rev Saw, where held attacks activate a quick window where different follow-ups will happen based on Lin’s timing. When held, a scale appears on Lin’s gauge that grants different release windows. During this window, Lin charges a meter called Nitro Fuel with a slow but highly damaging saw attack covering a wide area. The more Nitro Fuel he builds up, the more damage his follow-up deals. Nitro Fuel is cleared after a follow-up attack.
Nitro Fuel functions as a damage scaling resource.
- Immediately releasing → Liberty: Demon Synergy: Provides a damage buff
- Waiting for the gears of Liberty to glow / middle of gauge → Angel Synergy: Provides a speed buff
- Perfect timing, causing an explosion / Hold until cap → Nephilim Unison: Damage and speed buff
Each release window adds up a portion to the Hype-fryer Gauge / contributes to level progression based on performance consistency rather than raw Nitro amount.
Holding to full cap allows a special finisher.
After every attack, Lin has a brief cooldown with a revving sound where he can use his chainsaw with sprayed nitrogen on its rails, adding a fire buff on his next attack. Damage scales based on how much Nitro Fuel was built up during the charge.
After a charged attack, Lin’s attacks are guaranteed to have a fire buff until the next follow-up OR 10 seconds.
When Hype-fryer Level is below Full Power, every time a Rev Saw is triggered, Lin applies Smolder to enemies based on attack type rather than Nitro conversion. Smolder is a persistent debuff that stores heat buildup and detonates during finishers or Gear Combos.
Hype-fryer Level increases based on performance consistency, such as repeated successful timing windows (Liberty / Angel / Nephilim), rather than direct Nitro thresholds. Nitro Fuel does not directly increase level, but high-efficiency usage indirectly accelerates progression by enabling better timing outcomes.
When a Level is filled to an extent, the next attack becomes empowered: basic attacks become faster and more powerful with added flame effects.
At Full Power, triggering a Gear Combo resets Hype-fryer into Full Power state, enabling a massive cinematic finisher.
Hype-fryer Tiers
The chainsaw’s color shifts from orange → red → white-hot.
- Buzz – Faster start-up to attacks, flame trails on each hit
Requires 1 successful timing window to maintain pressure chains - Rev – Extra hits and enhanced combo linking
Requires consistent timing success across 2 windows - Full Power – Complete state transformation
Requires 3 sustained timing successes and/or Gear Combo confirmation
If a fire trail from Lin’s attack is absorbed with a follow-up or intercepted during a charge window, it causes an explosive AoE on his next attack.
During Full Power, Lin can charge his gauge until it fully glows before releasing. Lin will activate Hype-fryer, which completely buffs his moveset and adds new ones. During held attacks, Lin applies Smolder more rapidly, increasing detonation potential during finishers.
Attacks gain large flame bursts, high knockback, and enhanced chain routing.
Each attack during Hype-fryer clears Nitro Fuel, which is now used purely as finisher amplification fuel, consumed only during cinematic finishers that trigger at threshold Smolder detonation levels.
These finishers vary based on weapon combo routes:
