Reverie

June 6, 2026 /Posted byAlex Chadwell / 39 / 0

Reverie, “The Glass Maiden” is a high-ranking member of the Legion Realm and serves as Nimbus’ loyal right-hand. Deluded by status and her own beauty, she seeks a way to “complete” herself. She is responsible for enslaving androids and harvesting their organs, which she modifies and grafts onto herself to enhance her body. The most notable of these is Gerda, whom Reverie raised alongside Anne in a role resembling that of a step-daughter. Reverie’s ability to enforce ideology and maintain loyalty across the Legion Realm makes her a psychological anchor for its members. Through her personal mirror, she reflects and reinforces the worst conditions of Nimbus’ sinful allure.

– Personality –

A pompous and cruel woman, Reverie is known for her deceptive and arrogant nature. She is a high- principled liar who insists that deception is mercy, claiming she blinds people to truth “for their own sake.” At the surface, she speaks with soft-spoken elegance, weaving deadly subtext into every word. Her noble exterior is laced with intimate “you and I phrases that make her seem dangerously close to others-only for her to strike when they least expect it. To Reverie, honesty is weakness; a straightforward rise to the top would leave her vulnerable. She thrives by staying two steps ahead through carefully constructed lies, manipulation, and merciless betrayals. Her mesmerizing charm draws others in easily, making them want to listen forever, even as she remains unreachable.

Vain to the core, Reverie obsesses over her own beauty, often admiring her reflections and declaring herself the fairest. Yet like a broken mirror, there are pieces of Reverie’s former self that were lost a long time ago, aspects of herself she abandoned once she joined Nimbus. Ever since, nothing is ever simply “enough” for her, craving a sense of self-completion. She pushes herself to overindulgence, desperately needing some sense of satisfaction to hide the smaller aspects of life she’s let go in exchange for vanity. Thus, she finds herself in an endless cycle of needing to go past her limits, regardless of how much it drains from her.

She despises rivals who threaten her appearance or her word. Her authority is not earned but a divine privilege, and anyone who attempts to overshadow her faces elaborate punishment: rivals crushed beneath intricate saw contraptions, humiliated and beaten without mercy, or even used as living furniture while she lounges with a glass of wine. Her cruelty is performative, turning punishment into art. Once, in a fit of jealousy, she attempted to poison her falsely adoptive daughter with an apple, unable to endure the thought of anyone being more beautiful than her.

Yet beneath this elegance lies her tragic devotion to Nimbus. To her, he gave her purpose: a reason for her perfection, her cruelty, her theater. Her loyalty is unrequited, perhaps unnoticed, but that does not diminish its sacred weight. Even if he disregards her, the act of serving him validates her existence. Her genius, vanity, and obsession all align with his vision, making her cruelty and artistry extensions of her devotion.

– Abilities (Neo-Gen) –

Reverie’s body is not just a Nosoimones, but a highly advanced humanoid that has undergone a controlled mutation, in which her decaying flesh is stabilized through glass fragments rather than repaired. Her skin is highly fragile, but instead of breaking, it is reinforced through silicon-like plating that holds her form together. Inside her body, her plating generates extreme heat from the Tidal Cataclysm virus, causing it to soften and melt. This molten liquid is then molded into glass, allowing Reverie to reshape and produce glass formations.

Attached to her is her mirror device, which grants her control over it and many forms of glass. The mirror reflects light and gives her control over it’s photonic charge, allowing Reverie to deflect light-based attacks and projectiles, including her own. When light is reflected by the glass, it bends and splits into a variety of colored projectiles, which can be used as illusions, offense, or defense, depending on the intensity of the reflected light.

  • Red Magnification – A concentrated laser of heat that burns into opponents
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Indigo
  • Violet Doppel – Creates illusions of herself and others

Reflective surfaces become conduits of glass for her, creating openings to her mirror world. When people are caught in her mirror’s gaze for too long, she traps them inside, containing them in its own pocket dimension. Inside Reverie’s mirror, the world is reflected with reversed properties: everything becomes upside down, objects occupy opposite positions, and so on. Anything that emerges from this mirror appears as a high-quality illusion that can interact with matter.

With her glass, Reverie can crystallize various objects into glass-like formations. This effect has a wide radius, but it takes time to spread, leaving her exposed while it expands, making it less effective in fast exchanges. From the mirror, Reverie can manifest formations of glass shards at the cost of fragmenting it. Excessive fragmentation causes the mirror to enter a cooldown period to reform its shards. The glass Reverie generates is incredibly hard, allowing her to shape it into multiple formations at the cost of fragmenting her mirror further with each use. She can create bee-shaped flakes as common projectiles, barrier walls for defense, spike clusters that erupt from surfaces, and thin slicing blades that travel along reflected paths. On impact, these glass formations drain heat from others to a degree approaching absolute zero, gradually making them brittle with repeated hits.

Reverie can glass reflective terrain, spreading it to nearby areas for spontaneous effects. She can even alter terrain to a degree by adding glass spikes or manifesting shards in the air that rain down like hailstorms (“Rain of Terror”). Glassing organisms or surfaces causes their forms to become rigid, making their bodies break apart when hit with blunt strikes. She can place multiple mirrors as traps to redirect her projectiles, or stand in front of a mirror to replicate an attack through her reflection, chaining attacks from different angles as long as a target is in sight of the mirror. From the mirrors, Reverie can create illusions by projecting reflected versions of objects or herself that move independently.

Reverie’s signature, Accursed Pandora, completely breaks her mirror as her range expands over a box-shaped field. In this field, her illusions become reality, altering her target’s perception as they see, hear, and feel things that aren’t there. The target becomes trapped within glasses, experiencing false sensations as they slowly become paralyzed from the glass freezing them. Outside of this field, her glass melts into a barrier of molten Cataclysm liquid that infects those who try to get in.

– Trivia –

Reverie’s original title was “Illusionare Queen of Glacial Blades”

Reverie is inspired by both the Queen from Snow White and the titular Queen from The Snow Queen. She also takes inspiration from various figures of Biblical theology, Greek mythology, and Japanese mythology, those being the Whore of Babylon, Lilith, Eve, Pandora, and Izanami.

Reverie’s original ability to swap between herself and her male counterpart, Riven, was an ability inspired by Zonda from Azure Striker Gunvolt 2

Reverie originally had a blue-themed palette on her earliest designs. In this design, she had clear eyes without any pupils.

Reverie enjoys apples

Reverie was once intended to have a demon inside of her mirror named Ouriset

Reverie was once associated with themes of envy, having the color of green attributed to her
