Coraline is a lizard-like Ultfinite who lives by preservation rather than ambition. Laidback and observant, she has little interest in shaping the world or fighting for ideals that do not directly touch her survival or comfort. She keeps her life small, efficient, and rooted in what she can maintain with her own hands, forming instinctive bonds with the land she occupies and with those who help protect it alongside her. Though she presents herself as absent-minded and carefree, Coraline functions as a quiet warden within the Talon Regime, watching, waiting, and intervening only when stability is at risk. The stitches across her body are not marks of shame, but restraints, sealing away what she only reveals when deterrence fails and survival demands escalation.
– Personality –
Coraline is extremely laidback in her approach to life, maintaining a calm yet sharp presence that can pivot into eccentricity when the mood strikes her. In her norm, she has no interest in shaping the world, fixing it, or standing for ideals that do not directly intersect with her survival or comfort. She lives by a primal, if obscure, code of living. Coraline has a firm preference for keeping her life small and efficient, never putting more effort into her tasks than necessary, depending mostly on what she can gather or produce herself. Territory anchors her with a sense of stability, forming an instinctive attachment not only to her environment, but also to anyone who actively helps maintain it. This bond is based on what she deems the most vital necessities in life rather than sentimentality, valuing shared preservation over a cause. She believes deaths for causes, symbols, or abstract futures are nonsense without anything tangible to gain from them.
The stitches on her body serve as reminders of how much she has endured from a time when she was part of a garden separate from the war—Eden. She sustained injuries from those who attempted to disrupt Eden, despite the backlash she would receive as an Ultfinite. During her time protecting the domain, she took body parts from those she executed as part of her prioritization of survival over ideals. As long as she maintained something of worth in her eyes, those stitches bring her happiness rather than shame.
Outwardly, Coraline presents herself as soft-spoken and absent-minded, often masking dire situations with her wit and impeccable timing. She appears carefree, even slow to take things seriously. By playing the airhead, she keeps others unaware of how much she is actually observing, letting them underestimate her capacity to act. When necessary, she leans into erratic shifts in behavior and unconventional tactics to ward others away from her territory and from potentially disrupting her lifestyle.
Among the Talon Regime, Coraline functions less as an enforcer (like Lightstreak) or a leader (like Lyra) and more as a warden. She observes how situations, people, and tensions develop over time, stepping in only when things are bound to turn for the worst. Rather than pushing the team forward, she slows it down, forcing them to remember where they came from through humor or sudden “games” used as quiet stress tests to evaluate growth. Coraline does not chase vague outcomes; she maintains stability for herself and those closest to her.

– Trivia –
Coraline’s name was originally Caroline during early development.
Coraline’s earliest concept portrayed her as a nurse before she was reworked into a warden-like member of the Talon Regime.
- Original Personality: Coraline was originally conceived as a nurse whose gentle bedside manner concealed an eccentric and psychologically unstable disposition. Her fear of repeating medical mistakes and exposure to the Negative Zone played a major role in her characterization before being rewritten.
- Original Powers: Coraline originally possessed a Synchro-Gear organism that manipulated bio-chemical membranes, living tissue, and plant life through stitching appendages. This concept was later discarded, although aspects of its themes influenced her current design.
Coraline, similarly to Lightstreak, was based on multiple scrapped characters. The first is Toothpick, whom would’ve been a nurse with a slasher monster motif. And the other is Techaid, whom had little to no information other than being a medical figure using cybernetics.
Coraline’s neo-gen was going to have a ghost motif initially, with her being able to phase through walls, utilize the spiritual energy of others, etc
Coraline’s arm tools are inspired from the magnets used by Ratchet from Transformers Animated
Coraline’s emerald star of propserity represents the goddess Demeter, who is represented by a spotted lizard
Toothpick’s name was based upon the idea that her tongue would’ve been pierced with multiple toothpicks, this was recycled into Coraline having a cut tongue.
Coraline was originally going to have blue tips on her hair.
In an initial backstory, Coraline would’ve had trauma from starvation to justify her weird eating habits. It was scrapped due to it potentially repeating for an upcoming character themed around Gluttony.
Coraline was almost going to be considered to have psychic-related abilities
Coraline’s original design featured a permanently damaged tongue replaced by a prosthetic, causing her to conceal her mouth behind a surgical mask.
Her unusual appetite originated as a side effect of her original Neo-Gen, leading her to enjoy bizarre food combinations.
