Brown, the Ecliptic Warlord, is the deuteragonist of the ULTIMATE storyline and Lin’s rival. A charismatic mercenary and protégé of the Matriarch, Brown serves as a leading figure within the Revolt Tyrants. Driven by his unwavering sense of justice and compassion, he seeks to liberate Ultfinites from Levita’s tyranny while upholding his belief that even the oppressed deserve the chance to choose their own future.

Brown is a man of unwavering conviction, driven by a disciplined mind and a fiercely compassionate heart. He holds a deep devotion to his ideals of peace, justice, and order, making him an idealistic, charismatic, and determined figure. Swearing to uphold his code of protecting the weak, Brown strives to serve as an example for others to follow. His chivalrous principles lead him to refuse to fight women, though this belief serves as a double-edged sword due to his inflexible nature and unwillingness to compromise his values, even when circumstances demand it. He is disgusted by those who disgrace his ideals and seeks to liberate people through bonds of mutual trust and respect. Brown despises taking lives, believing that every person has the potential to change, even during their darkest moments. As such, he treats others with fairness, dignity, and respect.

In his youth, Brown possessed a volatile temper and often lashed out when overwhelmed. He never forgot the look in the eyes of those he hurt unintentionally, and from then on, he chose discipline over impulse to ensure he would never lose control again. His calm demeanor serves as armor forged through years of restraint, allowing him to fight with precision and elegance. In moments of crisis, Brown acts without hesitation, believing that hesitation can mean death when the lives of the weak are at stake.

Brown maintains small ritualistic habits influenced by his Buddhist beliefs, such as silently reciting mantras before battle, collecting souvenirs from fallen comrades, and honoring important dates connected to those he cares for. He serves the Matriarch and his sister Shan with unwavering loyalty, believing his strength comes from the people who shaped him. To Brown, a person’s ideals are born from the bonds they form with others, and those bonds should be honored as deeply as the values they represent.

In romance, Brown is awkward and unexpectedly formal, struggling to express intimacy due to his disciplined upbringing and limited experience with emotional vulnerability. His last relationship was with Effi, which became a complicated and emotionally turbulent bond due to their difficulties in communicating their feelings and understanding each other’s needs.

Despite his actions, Brown does not see himself as noble. He views himself as a fraudulent leader, believing he is merely someone who made fewer mistakes because he had guidance when it mattered most. This belief continues to haunt him. Brown dreams of peace, yet he does not know what he would do once it arrives. To him, retirement feels less like freedom and more like exile. In moments of stillness, the memories of those he lost become impossible to ignore. Because of this, he continues to move forward, fearing what will surface if someone like him isn’t present for his community.

Brown’s Neo-Gen grants him the ability to generate and manipulate electromagnetic energy within his cybernetically augmented body, allowing him to accelerate his nervous system, enhance his physical movements, and augment his weapons beyond their natural limitations. By controlling the flow of electromagnetic currents throughout his body, Brown can enter states of heightened perception, allowing him to process information at extraordinary speeds. This enables him to read an opponent’s muscle movements, predict their attacks, and precisely adjust his reactions before they strike.

Through electromagnetic manipulation, Brown can also influence the trajectory of nearby objects and projectiles, using subtle changes in magnetic fields to redirect attacks or alter their path. This ability extends to Kudo Diviner, allowing Brown to remotely control its reinforced sheath through repelling and attracting forces. By throwing the sheath into battle, Brown can manipulate its movement independently before recalling it back to his hand.

The sheath acts as an energy reservoir, converting the kinetic force and vibrations generated during combat into stored electromagnetic energy. The longer Brown maintains his momentum, the more his body and weapon synchronize, causing his right eye to glow brighter as Senko Flash reaches higher levels. This accumulated energy enhances Kudo’s frequency, allowing its blade to release devastating strikes capable of cutting through highly durable materials.

Before drawing Kudo, Brown cools the blade within its sheath using released nitrogen from its internal mechanism, allowing him to regulate the weapon’s temperature and maintain its high-frequency resonance. When unsheathed, the sudden release of stored electromagnetic energy creates a powerful discharge, amplifying his draw attacks with explosive speed and force.

However, Senko Flash demands absolute control. Excessive acceleration places immense strain on Brown’s body, while losing his rhythm causes his stored momentum and energy to rapidly dissipate. Because of this, Brown’s fighting style relies not only on speed, but on discipline, timing, and maintaining the delicate balance between restraint and overwhelming force.

Kudo Diviner: Brown’s signature weapon, a high-frequency katana consisting of a thin electromagnetic blade and a reinforced sheath capable of functioning as a secondary weapon. Designed around Brown’s disciplined fighting style, Kudo allows him to fight with the blade concealed, utilizing the sheath for blunt strikes, counters, and precise defensive maneuvers before drawing the sword when the moment demands it.

The weapon contains a resonating current system that converts kinetic energy and vibrations generated through combat into stored electromagnetic energy. By building momentum through consecutive strikes, Brown can amplify Kudo’s frequency, allowing the blade to release lightning-infused slashes capable of cutting through even highly durable materials.

Brown’s combat style is inspired by the predatory movements of a praying mantis, emphasizing patience, observation, and explosive bursts of speed. He combines angular cuts, curved slashes, swift thrusts, and rapid draw attacks with the reinforced sheath’s blunt strikes to overwhelm opponents through carefully timed sequences rather than raw force.

The sheath itself, known as Chitin Equalizer, is reinforced with crystalline and nitrogen-infused materials, allowing it to withstand powerful impacts while enhancing Brown’s defensive techniques. It can be used as a club, thrown to restrain enemies, or manipulated through electromagnetic forces to create openings for Brown’s attacks. Its counter-focused design allows him to deflect, interrupt, and punish opponents who overextend themselves.

Brown represents a praying mantis due to his immense speed and precision in combat. This follows the animal motifs of other major characters, including Lin (dragon), Shan (nuwa), Yu Mei (tiger), Ritsueto (fish/avian), and Elpis (snake).

The name Kudo Diviner references a historical nickname for praying mantises derived from the belief that they possessed supernatural abilities or spiritual significance.

Kudo Diviner was originally named Brand Locus during early development.

Brown was originally planned to use twin pistols and a rocket launcher. This concept was later removed to emphasize his identity as a disciplined and honorable warrior.

Brown was inspired by Ky Kiske from the Guilty Gear series, particularly his sense of justice, leadership, and knightly ideals. His fighting style was also influenced by Kojuro Katakura from Sengoku Basara, who utilized both a wakizashi and odachi in combat, inspiring Brown’s use of a concealed blade and secondary weapon style.

Like Shan, Brown was inspired by one of Lin’s (the creator’s) friends. This friend was from Thailand and had an ambiguous gender presentation, which influenced aspects of Brown’s early concept. They often made art for Lin and Lex in early development. Such as one of Brown’s characters next to Lin and a mummified Ritsueto.
