The Revolt Tyrants are a resistance movement composed of rogue Ultfinite mercenaries, refugees, and outcasts in ULTIMATE who have united in opposition to the government, believing it to be part of a far-reaching conspiracy surrounding the persecution and exploitation of Ultfinites. Originally founded under Brahnan, leadership was later entrusted to the Matriarch following his resignation. The Tyrants seek to create a world where Ultfinites no longer struggle merely to survive, but can live together as a family with dignity, security, and acceptance. To them, strength exists to protect one another rather than to dominate, and they strive to build a community where no Ultfinite is abandoned because of what they are. They are hostile toward the Talon Regime due to a fundamental ideological divide. The Tyrants believe Ultfinites must be protected above all else, whereas the Talon Regime strives to protect all people equally, even if it means opposing Ultfinites who threaten the greater public
The Revolt Tyrants take refuge within a deserted military base, using it as both a sanctuary and headquarters for displaced Ultfinites and their allies. Rather than confronting enemies head-on, they wage a guerrilla campaign, relying on ambushes, sabotage, and mobility to overcome forces far stronger than themselves. The Tyrants recruit both humans and Ultfinites who have been persecuted, abandoned, or otherwise failed by society. Many members are rescued from government facilities, conflict zones, or hostile territories before being offered a place within the organization. Others join willingly after coming to believe in the Tyrants’ cause.
To sustain themselves, the Tyrants rely on black market trade, scavenging abandoned technology, and salvaging equipment recovered from enemy raids. Much of their arsenal is repurposed from stolen or discarded military hardware, which their engineers modify into weapons and tools suited to their needs. Their firearms are frequently modified with improvised explosives and specialized ammunition to compensate for their limited resources. Brown is a notable exception, refusing to use firearms out of personal conviction. Despite having experienced leaders such as the Matriarch, the Tyrants deliberately avoid a rigid military hierarchy. They view every member as an individual whose strengths contribute equally to the group, encouraging initiative and cooperation over unquestioning obedience. Leadership exists to guide and protect rather than command.
Guided by the belief that strength exists to protect rather than rule, the Tyrants frequently deploy members in pairs. This ensures mutual protection while encouraging trust and companionship between individuals who might otherwise never have formed a bond. During operations, members refer to both allies and enemies using NATO phonetic alphabet codenames to conceal identities over communications and streamline coordination in the field. Life within the Revolt Tyrants revolves around communal responsibility. Members share meals, maintain the sanctuary together, and are encouraged to pursue interests outside of combat whenever possible. The Matriarch believes that giving Ultfinites a home worth protecting is just as important as winning battles.
The Tyrants keep their presence concealed whenever possible, understanding that direct confrontation against overwhelming forces would only lead to unnecessary losses. Instead, they patiently observe their enemies, striking vulnerable targets through coordinated hit-and-run operations before disappearing back into hiding. Their greatest weapon is not overwhelming strength, but their ability to outlast, outmaneuver, and deny their enemies a decisive victory. To the government, the Revolt Tyrants are regarded as dangerous terrorists and insurgents. Most Devil Hunters view them as unpredictable but occasionally reliable allies when their goals align. To the Talon Regime, they are seen as well-intentioned but misguided revolutionaries whose methods risk endangering the very people they seek to protect.
