Daibo is the tritagonist of BioMassCore, a reckless loose cannon and former Vessel. Once a prince, he fled his home kingdom of Eden, a land abundant with nature and untouched by the virus or war until a betrayal that prevented him from inheriting his father’s abilities, leaving him as an ordinary Ultfinite (mutant). Known for his wild tendencies and showman attitude, Daibo thrives in crowds and commands attention with ease. He is a member of a mutant gang known as the Obsidian Maidens, yet harbors deep resentment toward his own past cowardice, driving him to become someone capable of true achievement while still preserving his natural charm. Within the Talon Regime, Daibo follows Elpis and Lyra with dedication to their values, gradually learning to reconcile their ideals with his own as he grows alongside them.
– Personality –
As the youngest of the leading trio, Daibo is energetic and unwavering, thriving on action, attention, and connection. Where Lyra leads and reflects, and Elpis isolates and carves his own path, Daibo rides the momentum of others, rallying them with his showman attitude—loud, expressive, and unafraid to speak his mind. He relies on animated body language, quick humor, and bold entrances to command presence. Daibo doesn’t just read the room; he becomes the spark that brings it together. While he naturally draws attention, he is also adept at blending in, acting as a bridge between clashing personalities in moments of tension, guided by his grounded values. Though others may be annoyed by his talkative nature, there is no denying that he speaks from conviction, hoping his youthful outlook might inspire or enlighten those around him.
Deeply fascinated by risk, Daibo often acts before fully thinking, leaning into danger to prove his capabilities. He only pulls back when the consequences become undeniable. His can-do attitude shines when faced with challenges, and he enjoys exploring new ideas simply to see where they might lead. When situations begin to stagnate, he is the first to shake things up, often going the extra mile to keep momentum alive. His openness to outsiders and willingness to embrace new experiences lead him to dive into situations without critical forethought, preferring immersion over caution. This carefree approach can be frustrating for more disciplined individuals such as Lightstreak, as Daibo’s tendency to chase the thrill of success frequently places him in danger.
Beneath his confidence, Daibo avoids deep self-reflection and struggles to process personal feedback, often letting advice pass by to avoid confronting his own unresolved issues. Criticism rarely seems to trouble him—unless it strikes at the core of his insecurities. Daibo struggles with a persistent fear of inadequacy rooted in the death of his father—a revered authority figure in Eden, who died protecting him during a riot. In the aftermath, the denizens of Eden came to view Daibo as a failure for surviving, a judgment he internalized deeply. He uses his showman tendencies to outrun the fear of not being good enough, sometimes withdrawing from situations that press too closely on his insecurities. In moments of isolation, he turns inward, criticizing himself harshly for hesitating and condemning his own perceived cowardice. Despite this, Daibo strives to become someone worthy of respect, determined to live up to his idol’s values and one day restore what made his home great.
One lesson that has left a lasting impression is his personal code against killing. Daibo firmly believes in seeing the good in people, choosing to spare those he deems capable of redemption. If given the chance, he strives to be welcoming and open, hoping to guide others toward change rather than destruction. In this belief, he takes after his father, though what truly became of the man remains a mystery.
– Abilities / Neo-Gen (Regal Marigold) –
Daibo is a Vessel, using a special core in his cybernetic body that hosts a fragmented body part, in his case a heart. Unlike Elpis’ heart, however, Daibo’s transmits light energy that acts upon multiple organs throughout his nervous system. His body features various bionic animal elements, including heightened senses that allow him to see in the dark and possess an exceptional range of smell and hearing. His ears can pivot and adjust toward the direction of incoming sound. Daibo also has a tail that splits into two halves, each ending in a burning mace.
Within his body, Daibo constantly builds charge. Rather than simply amplifying himself, he relies on his nervous system. In combat, he converts the momentum and aggression of battle into higher energy output, causing his body to generate increasing amounts of heat. This process is fueled by the number of clean hits he lands on an opponent. The longer he maintains pressure, the more powerful he becomes by concentrating photons. Missing attacks causes his momentum to drop, reducing his power. As his heat rises, it builds internal pressure, turning his body into a constantly cycling reactor that feeds directly into his attacks.
Daibo’s body is extremely hot by default beneath his armor, but he can amplify this solar heat and conduct it through his arms, making them hot enough to melt solid metal and rock through contact. The resulting strikes emit explosions based on the amount of concentrated photons. Excess heat is compressed and regulated throughout his body, allowing him to release it in controlled bursts rather than losing it inefficiently.
Daibo wields a set of cybernetic arms in addition to prosthetic arms mounted on his back, all linked to high-performance internal reactors. His primary arms are equipped with rocket-augmented gauntlets shaped like lion heads. Upon impact, Daibo releases blasts of compressed photons that create kinetic shockwaves capable of hurling opponents backward. When firing, the gauntlets generate photons and store them within internal reactors to form quick-deploying grenades. These grenades are ignited through sharp snapping motions of his fingers, compressing heat and kinetic friction into a precise ignition point that triggers rapid combustion. The resulting snap-triggered grenades detonate in bright flashes upon impact, disorienting enemies while releasing volatile bursts of energy.
This allows Daibo to unleash photonic blasts with every strike, creating devastating detonations when combined with his kinetic force. These photonic bursts can also redirect his momentum or be shaped into swords of light extending from his arms. When creating blades of light, Daibo generates high-energy constructs through photon emitters in his arms and legs, producing thruster-like boosts from his lower limbs and arm blades extending from his body.
Daibo’s forearms are embedded with biomechanical pistons that run through his gauntlets. From the muzzles of the gauntlets’ cannons, he can emit plasma blades that amplify his physical attacks. Rapidly pumping these pistons back and forth creates intense vibration, destabilizing targets before impact and jackhammering opponents, producing tremors, fissures, and localized quakes. He can launch the pistons like rockets and magnetically reattach them afterward. When detached, they are capable of independent movement, functioning as rocket fists that continue his assault at range.
Daibo’s fingertips can transform into gun barrels, turning his hands into gatling guns. Through them, he emits pulses of raw kinetic energy that launch enemies great distances through explosive impacts. From his palms, he can open vent reactors that release short bursts of steam, propelling him in various directions. By fusing his primary arms together, Daibo forms a lion-shaped head capable of firing missiles and projecting high-penetration laser beams that augment his melee attacks.
The prosthetic arms mounted on Daibo’s back are lengthy hook-shaped claws powered by built-up steam pressure generated from his internal heat. This pressure results from excess thermal energy cycling through his system, which he redirects into these auxiliary limbs. The hooks can release this pressure in bursts to extend their reach, accelerate their strikes, or violently propel themselves forward. They can easily sweep enemies inward and be launched toward targets, allowing Daibo to home in on them through recoil bursts. These claws can also conduct light, superheating into molten blades that leave burning wounds and extend further under pressure. Equipped with miniature shooters, the claws can fire waves of energy while swinging, using stored pressure and internal energy reserves to amplify their force.
Fusing these prosthetic arms together forms a massive shield that hardens Daibo’s skin. While using this shield, he concentrates photons throughout his body and redistributes them as an explosive counterattack when struck, causing the stored energy to detonate. When activating this counter, Daibo puffs out his chest and releases a roaring shockwave. If forced into prolonged defense, however, his offensive power temporarily weakens until he can reestablish momentum through consecutive hits, reducing his ability to build pressure and energy output.
Daibo’s nervous system can coordinate all four arms independently, allowing him to perform simultaneous attacks with both hooks and claws, creating layered and overlapping offense. When his hooks are used in tandem with his claws, they pull enemies closer, generating additional force that manifests as extra striking mass augmenting his attacks. These extra impacts increase in size based on the number of hits he has landed. When the claws are used in tandem with the hooks, they repel enemies away, while the hooks detach into photonic armor segments that Daibo controls remotely. Clapping all four hands together creates devastating shockwaves, while punching the ground causes pillars of rock to erupt beneath enemies and launch them upward.
In his Trigger, Daibo’s arms fuse together into massive pile bunker-styled mutated limbs with enormous claws and an embedded cannon, channeling all accumulated pressure and photon output into overwhelming close-range destruction.
– Weapons –
Magna: Daibo’s primary cybernetic gauntlets, forged as massive lion-headed weapons mounted over his main arms. Built around photon compression chambers and rocket-assisted actuators, Solaris Mane functions as both a striking weapon and a mobile reactor system. Every punch compresses and detonates concentrated light energy, producing explosive shockwaves that amplify Daibo’s already immense physical strength. Internal plasma channels allow the gauntlets to generate blades, missiles, laser beams, and volatile photon grenades ignited through Daibo’s signature snapping motions. The lion motifs are not merely decorative; their maws serve as venting systems and weapon ports capable of releasing concentrated energy bursts, turning each strike into a miniature detonation.
Torchbearers: Extending from Daibo’s lower back is a bifurcated mechanical tail that splits into two independent segments, each ending in a blazing mace-like weapon. Powered by excess thermal energy circulating through his reactor body, these tails function as both offensive limbs and heat regulators. The burning heads can sweep through groups of enemies, crush targets with tremendous force, or whip outward with surprising speed. During combat, the tails continuously accumulate heat and momentum, allowing their impacts to release bursts of fire and photonic energy. Their independent movement enables Daibo to attack from multiple angles simultaneously while maintaining pressure with his primary arms.
Miyon: Mounted on Daibo’s back are a pair of elongated prosthetic hook-claws that act as auxiliary weapons. Driven by internal steam pressure and reactor-generated heat, these limbs can extend, launch, and retract at high speeds. Their hooked design allows them to drag enemies toward Daibo, pin targets in place, or propel him across the battlefield through recoil bursts. Photon-conductive materials running through their structure enable them to superheat into molten cutting edges, transforming them into gigantic burning blades capable of carving through armor. Integrated emitters also allow the claws to discharge waves of concentrated energy when swung, making them effective at both close and medium range.
– Trivia –
Prior to his rework, Daibo’s playstyle was centered around sustained DPS, stagger pressure, and wide-reaching plasma attacks rather than the momentum-reactor mechanics he currently uses. He functioned as an aggressive bruiser who overwhelmed opponents through continuous offense, laceration damage, survivability, and high knockback. His signature mechanic, the Enkindled Ferocity Gauge, revolved around repeatedly using Roaring Snap, a combo-extending reload system that empowered attacks with plasma effects, reduced recovery, and allowed Daibo to rapidly chain between attack strings. Consecutive uses of Roaring Snap escalated in power, progressing from damage-over-time effects to stun explosions and eventually massive firestorms capable of sweeping entire groups of enemies. His kit focused heavily on maintaining offensive flow through cancels, armor buffs, AoE pressure, and elemental enhancements, while compensating for weaknesses such as poor ranged options and lengthy heavy-attack recovery. During this iteration, Daibo primarily fought using his dual gauntlets, Ember Magna and Runic Miyon, which emphasized claw-like plasma slashes, explosive aftershocks, and accumulating burn damage through relentless offense.
Daibo was based on a knight character from Proto-BMC of the same name. Who had a cybernetic counterpart named Cybo.
